This 1 day course is designed for the small system operator who is responsible for or will be responsible for the operation of a hypo-chlorinator. The program covers the basic aspects of hypo chlorination.
Broken into three modules:
- Basic principles and concepts
- Math
- Hands on pump maintenance, trouble shooting, repairs and residual monitoring devises.
This course highlights the importance of disinfection and the monitoring process, concepts of chlorination, the types of hypo chlorites as well as safety and handling practices. The math will be a refresher of basic volume calculations then build into dilution factors and concentration calculations.
Operators will have access to a variety of hypo-chlorinators.
Designed for operators responsible for maintaining water systems with reservoirs, This 1 day program covers the procedures necessary for preparing for and cleaning a potable water reservoir. We strongly recommend attendees consider the confined space awareness program prior to this one.agenda items include:
- Basic confined space procedures
- System isolation procedures
- Reservoir cleaning techniques and options
- Disinfection requirements
- Chlorine calculations
- Volume calculations
This five-day course prepares participants to write and pass Water Distribution I and II Certification exam.

Successful candidates will be announced to the membership at the EOCP’s AGM which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th of June.
