Description:
Prerequisite: Confined Space Awareness
This (1) day course provides proper procedures & practical exercise’s for students to safely enter a confined space using standard CS entry techniques & equipment with an additional component utilizing specialized techniques for simultaneous multiple worker entries. Topics Include:
- Regulations & Responsibilities – a review of OHS regulations & responsibilities,
- Hazards & Precautions – understanding hazards and learning precautions to eliminate,
- Inspection and Review of Equipment and PPE – reviewing function and operation of confined space entry equipment
- Knots, Rope and Specialized Equipment – Learn and demonstrate constructing a rope system for multiple worker entry
- Pre-Plan (Workers and Task)- to Develop and organize a task plan
- Preparing Personnel for Entry / Inspection – understanding procedures and how to inspect equipment prior to use
- Preparing the Space for Entry – Learn how to set up equipment and prepare the space / area for entry
- Entry into a Confined Space – learning and demonstrating safe enter of a confined space
- Exiting a Confined Space – learn and demonstrate safe exit of a confined space
- Man-down Non-Entry Rescue Procedure – learn non-entry extraction techniques
- Post Entry Procedures
The course also provides a non-entry rescue exercise.
