Description:

This 4.5 day course combines the introductory and second level water distribution disciplines, providing the basic knowledge and advanced appreciation of water distribution practices. Focusing on the practical aspects of construction, operation and maintenance of water distribution systems. Recommended for operators who maintain a facility classified as WD-I / II.

The course is followed by an EOCP examination for categories such as Water Distribution OIT, Level 1 or 2.

**Note: Certification exams require separate application 3 weeks in advance. Please contact the Environmental Operator Certification Program to register**

Opportunity to provide workshop evaluation and feedback for future resource development will be given.

The 2018 BCGWA Trade Show, Convention, and AGM is coming to Langley!  Put us on your calendar now for April 4 and 5, at the Coast Langley  Hotel & Convention Center, 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley.

We are setting the stage for another successful event, featuring a two-day interactive 24-booth trade show, a full day well pump installer course, an opportunity to challenge the well pump installer ITA exam.  On Wednesday we’ll kick-off a “Hard Day’s Night” with Beatles tribute band, the Fab Fourever at our President’s Gala.

A variety of informative talks are planned on flowing artesian wells, groundwater regulations and  information resources in BC, and other topics of interest to industry practitioners.  We are excited to welcome Wally Wells, Executive Director of Asset Management BC, as our keynot speaker on Thursday.

This one day course covers the use of UV for disinfection for water and wastewater systems.

Participants earn 0.6 Continuing Education Units from the EOCP. These CEUs can be used as core for Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, or Water Distribution.

Course topics include:
• Regulations and standards for water & wastewater disinfection systems
• What is UV light and how does it disinfect water
• Water quality and sampling for UV analysis
• Operation of UV systems
• Measuring the effectiveness of UV disinfection
