Water Distribution – Level 1-2 @ Lower Mainland, BC

This 4.5 day course combines the introductory and second level water distribution disciplines, providing the basic knowledge and advanced appreciation of water distribution practices. Focusing on the practical aspects of construction, operation and maintenance of water distribution systems. Recommended for operators who maintain a facility classified as WD-I / II.

The course is followed by an EOCP examination for catagories such as Water Distribution OIT, Level 1 or 2.

** Note: Environmental Operator Certification Program Certification Exams require separate application online and are to be completed through the EOCP Customer Relationship Management System at  and to be submitted no later than 16 business days prior to the posted date of the scheduled exam.

This 5-day program covers aspects of cross connection controls and backflow preventer assembly testing as published in the AWWA Canadian Cross Connection Control 2007 Manual published by the Western Canada Section American Water Works Association (WCS AWWA) and is followed by the BCWWA Backflow Assembly Testers Certification.   • Final Exam upon successful completion provides BCWWA Backflow Assembly Tester Certificate:
    • 100 multiple choice questions (requires 75 % to pass)

Hypo Chlorination @ Vancouver Island

This 1 day course is designed for the small system operator who is responsible for or will be responsible for the operation of a hypo-chlorinator. The program covers the basic aspects of hypo chlorination.

Broken into three modules:

  • Basic principles and concepts
  • Math
  • Hands on pump maintenance, trouble shooting, repairs and residual monitoring devises.

This course highlights the importance of disinfection and the monitoring process, concepts of chlorination, the types of hypo chlorites as well as safety and handling practices. The math will be a refresher of basic volume calculations then build into dilution factors and concentration calculations.

Operators will have access to a variety of hypo-chlorinators.
