In recent years, the threat of wildfires has become a reality for many communities across British Columbia. The summer of 2017 provided dramatic examples of the devastation that wildland fires can have when they quickly spread into nearby communities. This includes the unique threats to infrastructure that water and wastewater facilities face, include damage to watersheds. This workshop is designed to provide water and wastewater professionals with an overview of interface fires, including how to assess risk before and after a fire event, common mitigation practices, and tools (such funding resources) that are available to communities. Learn more at http://bit.ly/waterandfire.
