The use of Mechanical Restraint on PVC, Ductile Iron , HDPE, and Steel pipes has grown exponentially in our Municipal industry with more Utilities now preferring good Mechanical Restraint instead of concrete thrust blocks.

This course will review the history of the growth and today’s newer broader supply of many methods of restraining flanges on pipes and restraining pipe fittings of all types on PVC , Ductile Iron , HDPE and Steel pipes.

The design of mechanical restraint will be taught, allowing the operator to determine easily how many pipe joints should be restrained .

The proper installation methods for each type will be explained , and this will be followed be every operator installing restrainers on various pipes , with proper use of torque wrenches and where they are needed.

There are some confusing terms in the industry of casing spacers – We will explain the differences and how many types there are to show the difference between Restrained Casing Spacers , and Casing Spacers that are restrained!

Operators will get 0.3 CEUs for completion of this training!

Please note: Anyone attending will need to sign in at the front office, a High Vis Vest has to be worn to cross the property to the meeting room.
