WHAT INTERESTS YOU ABOUT THIS POSITION AS A DIRECTOR ON THE EOCP BOARD?

After attending a conference I came to realize that EOCP is at the forefront of certification in North America. I’m interested in assisting EOCP with maintaining their position as leaders in the industry and to be part of improving the program for current and future operators. I’m also interested in visiting other systems, meeting with staff and gathering their concerns to bring back
to the board.

WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF A DIRECTOR OF THE EOCP BOARD?

I believe the most important function of an elected member of the board is to provide guidance and direction to insure the organization is on track to achieve it’s vision and goals. Other important functions are attending board meetings, using the mission statement as a foundation for all decisions and promoting EOCP within the industry and my region.

WHAT SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ATTRIBUTES WOULD YOU BRING TO THE EOCP BOARD?

I have been an EOCP certified operator for almost 15 years. I graduated from the Water Quality Technology program in 2004. I am a certified Level 4 MWWT and Level 4 MWWT PO. I also have a Level 2 WWC certificate. I am currently the Chief Operator at FCPCC in  Parksville. Over the last 2 years I have been volunteering with the Associated Boards of Certification as part of their exam writing committee. I have solid knowledge of how exams are created, how questions are selected and the importance of a strong certification program. The attributes I  would bring to the board are dedication, honesty and a desire to learn.
